The heart of the new addition to the Müller product range, the heavy-duty PU timing belt CONTI® SYNCHROCHAIN CARBON is the high-strength carbon tension member. In comparison with its high-performance predecessor using aramid cord, the CONTI® SYNCHROCHAIN CARBON can transfer 30 % more power with the same overall width. If the same capacity is required, the overall width can be reduced accordingly. More narrow pulleys significantly reduce the total system costs.

Compared with aramid, the lengthening of the high-tensile carbon tension member is 50 % lower.

The special CTD profile (CTD: Conti Torque Drive) represents a symbiosis between the HTD and STD profile: The arc-shaped engagement geometry on the one hand and the higher tooth on the other hand provide a harmonic tooth engagement behaviour, creating an excellent running behaviour.

A specially coated fabric guarantees extremely wear- and abrasion-resistant running The rigid carbon tension member, the wear-proof fabric and the CTD profile reduce the pre-tensioning losses to practically zero throughout the entire service life. This makes the CONTI SYNCHROCHAIN CARBON suitable for the highest speeds and ensures that it remains stable in length throughout its entire service life.

Design engineers and operators get access to completely new possibilities. This applies to both initial equipment of drives and the spare parts business. The primary application areas of heavy-duty timing belts with 8 and 14 mm pitches are shredders, energy recovery systems, agricultural machinery, wood processing machines, printing machines, packaging machines, textile machines and machine tools.
